About

About Airngath Dogs

If you asked me why I was passionate about dog training, I would say I love to see relationships between owners and their dogs flourish! But if you asked me on a deeper level … There is not anything more amazing to see than a dog-owner relationship based on trust and confidence.

My aim is to support owners to understand their dog. Together we will work to get to the root of any behavioural or training challenge.

About me … I have four of my own dogs and we have experienced many behavioural challenges, including: living in a multi-dog household, separation anxiety, pain-related-behaviour, adolescence, sound sensitivities and many more. So I have first-hand experience of what you are going through!

I have also competed with my dogs (in agility, obedience and breed-showing) and have two young dogs currently in training. All my dogs are loved pets, first and foremost.

I have a PGDip in Clinical Animal Behaviour (from the University of Edinburgh), a Provisional Membership with the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC)*, a membership with the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Clinicians (FABC) and a full-membership with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT). These memberships give me access to case studies and ongoing CPD learning to keep my knowledge fresh and up-to-date.

I have attended numerous dog training seminars, including events by The IMDT, Kamal Fernandez, Craig Ogilvie and training days hosted by sport clubs in obedience, agility and IGP.

* Provisional members have demonstrated that they have the appropriate level of Knowledge and Understanding for the professional role of Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB). They are now gaining the practical experience necessary to be assessed as a CAB and therefore become a Full member of the APBC. The APBC supports its Provisional members undertaking behaviour consultations.

Why Choose
Airngath Dogs

Expertise

Strong understanding of canine behaviour, body language, pain recognition, and reinforcement gained through my PGDip in Clinical Animal Behaviour at Edinburgh University. This knowledge is complemented by practical experience in owning and training dogs, both as pets and in sports such as breed showing, obedience and agility. My experience has strengthened my ability to assess and manage canine behaviour in various contexts.

Training Methodology

Airngath Dogs specialise in dog training and behavioural modification using reinforcement-based techniques. These methods focus on reward-based training, incorporating play and motivation to encourage positive behaviours. We work with dogs to help them understand boundaries, develop impulse control, and build a strong, positive relationship with their owners; ultimately, creating a happy and confident dog.

Supportive Community

All dogs and their owners are welcome at Airngath Dogs, regardless of background, experience, or behavioural challenges. I offer a non-judgmental and open-minded support network for those who need it most, fostering a safe space for learning and growth. At Airngath Dogs, our goal is to help transform your relationship with your dog, making it the best it has ever been, so you can explore the world together. Whether you're facing specific issues or simply looking to strengthen your bond, I will support you every step of the way.

Each Dog As An Individual

Each dog is treated as an individual, considering their personality, breed traits, and health. As an expert in training and behavioural modification, I create personalised plans tailored to each dog and owner. I will encourage you to send videos and stay in touch between sessions, as every dog learns at a different pace. Consistency is key, and staying engaged with the training will help ensure lasting change.
